If you wish to get the real wildlife tour, here’s the place. This island is the home of endemic and unusual wildlife such as orangutans and proboscis monkeys. The island is also called as an “island of rivers”. Rivers really play a very important role in communication and economy of the inhabitants. Most of civilizations are centered along rivers, such as; houses, activities, transportation, markets, etc. Exploring the river society is truly exciting, a civilization that certainly different with our normally lives on the land with the floating market of Banjarmasin which is known as the most unique market in the world as one of the fantastic river civilization sightseeing.


Day 01 ARRIVAL IN BANJARMASIN – NAGARA – LOKSADO

Arrive at Banjarmasin airport with morning or noon flight and directly transfer to Nagara village to get our boat crossing the river to Nagara lake for observing water buffaloes swim to the stall and villagers’ unique activities, as well as the romantic sunset outlook. Afterwards, driving to Loksado across the beautiful swampy and lowland landscape into the plateau of Meratus mountain. Lunch will be served en route, dinner and overnight at lodge in Loksado. (L,D)


Day 02 JUNGLE TREK

After breakfast at lodge, we will proceed to explore jungle and Dayak land crossing primary and secondary rainforest, hills, waterfall, hanging and suspended bamboo bridges, villager farmlands, rivers and cascades, longhouses, cinnamon and rubber trees. In the afternoon, we will back to the lodge through other trail with different beauties of nature. Lunch will be served en route, dinner and overnight on lodge. (B,L,D)


Day 03 BAMBOO RAFTING – BANJARMASIN

After breakfast at lodge, we will take an adventure trip of bamboo rafting across beautiful landscape of tropical rainforest along the Amandit riverside meanwhile our coach will be waiting on the downstream for driving to Banjarmasin for overnight on hotel. (B,L,D)


Day 04 FLOATING MARKET – JUMPUN PAMBELOM– SAMPIT

Early in the morning, we will leave to floating market for exploring the unique culture of Banjarese that trade commodities from boat to boat, then return to hotel crossing Banjarmasin River while sightseeing people activities at riverside. Next, driving across beautiful peat swamp forest landscape to reach Jumpun Pambelom to see the reforestation project on peat swamp area. If we are lucky, we will meet wild orangutan and other animals on this small forest. Afterwards, driving to Sampit with some stop over on interesting spots we will meet en route. Free at your own leisure and overnight on hotel. (B,L,D)


Day 05 SAMPIT – TANJUNG PUTING NATIONAL PARK

Transfer to Kumai village for boarding the houseboat to Tanjung Puting National Park. The houseboat is a traditional wooden river boat with roof forms the upper deck where you can view the rainforest as it glides by. The boat crew including the boatman, cook and expert guide. In the peaceful afternoon, we will slowly explore the quite river by the houseboat while observing the primates along the riverside. Overnight on houseboat or Rimba Lodge with dining on the boat, with facilities; thin mattress, pillow, fine meals, bottled “mineral” water, mosquito net, kitchen, and simple toilet available on boat besides the familiar helpful guides and boatmen. Day 06 TANJUNG PUTING NATIONAL PARK

After breakfast, we will board the houseboat for cruising upward the creek to Camp Leakey where the older orangutans are reintroduced into the rainforest. At this station, you will have opportunity to trek into the rainforest with your expert guide and forest rangers to appreciate the flora as well as viewing wild orangutans, gibbons, macaques, and birds. In the afternoon, we will visit the feeding station to see rehabilitated orangutans are given additional foods. We will then sail back down the river and overnight on houseboat or Rimba Lodge. Lunch and dinner will be served on houseboat. (B,L,D)


Day 07 TANJUNG PUTING NATIONAL PARK

Get the morning river safari by houseboat to observe river ecology and wildlife along the riverside. En route, we will stop at Pondok Tanggui Feeding Station to watch rangers feed orangutans, and then we will continue our trip by visiting the Pesalat Station to explore reforestation activities and the famous iron wood as well as other exotic vegetation. Lunch will be served on boat while sighting wild animal activities along the riverside. Next, we will depart to Tanjung Harapan Feeding Station for viewing the feeding process of orangutans. Afterwards, we will proceed to Tanjung Harapan village for sightseeing villagers’ daily activities. Enjoy the natural river view on the way back and overnight on houseboat or Rimba Lodge. Day 08 TANJUNG PUTING NATIONAL PARK – DEPARTURE

After breakfast, we will get the morning safari to explore wildlife on riverside. Afterwards, proceed to Kumai village to catch the car for driving to Pangkalan Bun airport for your next destination. (B)

Day 01 BALIKPAPAN – SAMARINDA – KOTA BANGUN

Meet at airport and directly transfer to Kota Bangun for about 6 hours drive and then proceed to check in to the homestay. Next, cruising the Semayang and Melintang Lakes for spotting the fresh water dolphins and unique life of villagers as well as the beautiful panorama and sunset of the lake. Afterwards, return to homestay for overnight. (L,D)


Day 02 KOTA BANGUN – MANCONG – MUARA MUNTAI

Proceed to Mancong by motorized canoe crossing the Jempang Lake of which we will have the opportunity to view plenty of water bird species and fishermen floating houses as well as the romantic Ohong River where proboscis monkeys, monitor lizards and other wild animals are hanging around at riverside. In Mancong, we will explore an exotic longhouse and Benuaq Dayak daily life. Afterwards, proceed to Muara Muntai for overnight on homestay. Day 03 MUARA MUNTAI – KUYUNG – SAMARINDA

After breakfast, we will explore the exotic of Muara Muntai village with the long wooden bridge which is made of iron wood linking all the roads and alleys of the hamlet and then proceed to Kuyung to catch the car for driving to Tenggarong town to explore the King Collection on the Museum of Mulawarman and Royal Cemetery of Kutai Kartanegara kingdom. Afterwards, driving to Samarinda for overnight on hotel. (B,L,D)


Day 04 SAMARINDA – DOYAM SERIAM – TANAH GROGOT

After breakfast at hotel, we will proceed to Doyam Seriam forest for a soft trekking to explore waterfall, black orchids, pitcher plants, and other flora and fauna of the jungle. Afterwards, proceed to Tanah Grogot town for overnight on hotel. (B,L,D)


Day 05 TANAH GROGOT– CANTUNG VILLAGE – PAGATAN BEACH

After breakfast at hotel, we will drive for about 5 hours to Cantung Village crossing beautiful karst topography, jungle, and mountainous landscape. Next, we will proceed to Goa Liang Kalih to explore the beautiful stalagmites and stalactites of the limestone cave. Afterwards, we will be driving to Pagatan beach for overnight at the beach hotel. Day 06 PAGATAN BEACH – ASAM RIVER – BANJARMASIN

Enjoy the wonderful morning at the beach hotel while having breakfast. We will then drive to the port for catching our boat to cruise the romantic Asam River river to spot crocodiles, proboscis monkeys, langurs, birds, and other wild animals. Afterwards, proceed to Banjarmasin for overnight at hotel. (B,L,D)


Day 07 FLOATING MARKET – JUMPUN PAMBELOM– SAMPIT

Early in the morning, we will leave to floating market for exploring the unique culture of Banjarese that trade commodities from boat to boat, then return to hotel crossing Banjarmasin River while sightseeing people activities at riverside. Day 05 UPAU VILLAGE – NAGARA – LOKSADO

After breakfast, we can see mystical performance of Dayak Deah takes about 1,5 hour. In this performance, we will watch some women are dancing followed by traditional music instruments, meanwhile the shaman is climbing the thorny tree with bare hand and foot without getting any hurt on his body. Next, transfer to Nagara village to get our boat crossing the river to Nagara lake for observing water buffaloes swim to the stall and villagers’ unique activities, as well as the romantic sunset outlook. Afterwards, driving to Loksado across the beautiful swampy and lowland landscape into the plateau of Meratus mountain. Lunch will be served en route, dinner and overnight at lodge in Loksado. Day 08 APUAI – RIAM KANAN LAKE – BANJARMASIN

Kalimantan is the southern part of Borneo, the 3rd largest island in the world. This Indonesian part covers some 580.000 km2 (225.000 sq mi), the vast area is home to only 12 million people, so most of the provinces, especially the interior is very sparsely populated, and the vast rain forests here is some of the most bio-diverse areas in the world. The Kalimantan rainforest is 130 million years old, making it one of the oldest rainforests in the world and 70 million years older than the Amazon rainforest. Borneo or Kalimantan is very rich in biodiversity compared to many other areas. There are about 15,000 species of flowering plants with 3,000 species of trees, 221 species of mammals and 420 species of birds. Subject to mass deforestation, the remaining Borneo rainforest is one of the only remaining natural habitat for the endangered Bornean Orangutan. The island is also an important refugee for many endemic forest species, as the Asian Elephant, the Sumatran Rhinoceros, the Bornean Clouded Leopard, and the Fruit Bat.


Day 01  ARRIVAL IN PONTIANAK – RINDU ALAM HILL – SINGKAWANG

Meet at airport and directly driving to Siantan village to visit the equator monument. Next, proceed to Rindu Alam hill for driving into the peak to view the beach, islands, and rainforest from above as well as the romantic sunset outlook. Afterwards, driving to Singkawang town for check in to hotel and exploring the city which is known as the China town of Kalimantan. (L,D)


Day 02  SINGKAWANG – GUNUNG POTENG – PAHUMAN

Breakfast at hotel, and then driving to Gunung Poteng for trekking into the primary forest with hope to see the famous rafflessia flowers. We will then back to the car for driving across rainforest and mountainous landscape to reach Pahuman village for overnight at local hotel. (B,L,D)


Day 03  PAHUMAN – SAHAM VILLAGE – KAPUAS BRIDGE – BALAI BERKUAK

After breakfast, we will drive to Saham village of which dozens of family stay in a length of 180 meters and 35 gates longhouse. Afterwards, driving across the bridge of mighty Kapuas River to reach Balai Berkuak village for check in to local hotel. The Kapuas River is the longest river in Indonesia, originates in the Müller mountain range at the center of the island and flows west into the South China Sea. (B,L,D)


Day 04  BALAI BERKUAK – BUKIT KURI – NANGA TAYAP – LOPUS

Breakfast at local hotel and then driving to Sungai Laur to explore the beautiful rock hill named Bukit Kuri. Afterwards, we will drive to Lopus village crossing pristine rainforest, dayak villages, and the border of West and Central Kalimantan provinces. Lunch and dinner will be served on local restaurants, staying overnight on local house in Lopus village. (B,L,D)


Day 05  LOPUS – KUMAI PORT – TANJUNG PUTING NATIONAL PARK

After breakfast, we will soft trek to the waterfall and swimming on a beautiful river of Kudangan while exploring the surrounding forest. Afterwards, driving to Kumai village for boarding the houseboat to Tanjung Puting National Park. The houseboat is a traditional wooden river with roof forms the upper deck where you can view the rainforest as it glides by. The boat crew including the boatman, cook and expert guide. In the peaceful afternoon, we will slowly explore the quite river by the houseboat while observing the primates along the riverside. Lunch, dinner and staying overnight at houseboat. (B,L,D)


Day 06  TANJUNG PUTING NATIONAL PARK

Day 08  SAMPIT – ORANGUTAN ISLAND – PALANGKA RAYA

After breakfast, we will drive for about 4 hours to Tangkiling port for catching our motorized canoe to reach Orangutan Island while sightseeing the beautiful natural black river and rainforest around, just keep an eye out for monkeys and birds. Orangutan Islands are managed by Borneo Orangutan Survival Foundation for orangutan rehabilitation before released into the wild. Afterwards, proceed to Palangka Raya for check in to hotel. (B,L,D)


Day 09  PALANGKA RAYA – JUMPUN PAMBELOM – BANJARMASIN

Breakfast at hotel and then driving to Banjarmasin crossing peat swamp forest landscape. We can make a stop at Jumpun Pambelom to see the reforestation project on peat swamp area. If we are lucky, we can meet wild orangutan and other animals on this small forest. Arrive in Banjarmasin and directly check in to hotel. In the peaceful afternoon, we can have the canal tours by motorized canoe to explore the daily life of Banjarese people on riverside. Return to hotel for overnight. (B,L,D)


Day 10  FLOATING MARKET – TRADITIONAL DIAMOND DIGGING – LOKSADO

Early in the morning, we will leave to floating market to explore the unique culture of Banjarese that trade commodities from boat to boat, then return to hotel crossing Banjarmasin River while sightseeing people activities at riverside. Breakfast at hotel and then driving to Cempaka vilage to explore people dig hole and take the material out to find rough diamond in a traditional diamond digging. Day 11  JUNGLE TREK – LOKSADO

Breakfast at lodge and then proceed to explore jungle and Dayak land crossing primary and secondary rainforest, hills, waterfall, hanging and suspended bamboo bridges, villager farmlands, rivers and cascades, longhouses, cinnamon and rubber trees. In the afternoon, we will back to the lodge through other trail with different beauties of nature. Lunch will be served en route, dinner and overnight on lodge. (B,L,D)


Day 12  BAMBOO RAFTING – BATU LICIN

After breakfast, we will take an adventure trip of bamboo rafting across beautiful landscape of tropical rainforest along the Amandit riverside meanwhile our coach will be waiting on the downstream for driving to Batu Licin for overnight on local hotel. Lunch will be served en route, dinner and overnight on hotel. (B,L,D)


Day 13  BATU LICIN – CANTUNG – TANAH GROGOT

After breakfast, we will drive for about 1 hour to Cantung Village crossing beautiful karst topography, jungle, and mountainous landscape. Next, we will proceed to Goa Liang Kalih to explore the beautiful stalagmites and stalactites of the limestone cave. Afterwards, proceed to Tanah Grogot for overnight on hotel. (B,L,D)


Day 14  TANAH GROGOT – BUKIT BANGKIRAI – LOA JANAN – MAHAKAM RIVER

Breakfast at hotel and then driving to Bukit Bangkirai to do a soft trekking and climbing the canopy bridge to view the forest from above. Afterwards, proceed to Loa Janan for boarding the houseboat to start the exciting adventure of Mahakam River. Lunch, dinner and overnight on houseboat. (B,L,D)


Day 15  MUARA MUNTAI – MANCONG VILLAGE – MAHAKAM RIVER

Arrive at Muara Muntai and sightseeing villagers daily activities from the long wooden bridge which is made of iron wood. Next, proceed to Mancong by motorized canoe crossing the Jempang Lake of which we will have the opportunity to view plenty of water bird species and fishermen floating houses as well as the romantic Ohong River where proboscis monkeys, monitor lizards and other wild animals are hanging around at riverside. In Mancong, we will explore an exotic longhouse and Benuaq Dayak daily life and watching colorful dress dancers that welcome you with an impressive attraction in front of their longhouse. Afterwards, return to houseboat for cruising downward the Mahakam River. Lunch will be served en route, dinner and overnight on houseboat. (B,L,D)


Day 16  TENGGARONG – KABO VILLAGE – KUTAI NATIONAL PARK

Breakfast at houseboat and then walking to Museum of Mulawarman to explore the King Collection and Royal Cemetery of Kutai Kartanegara Kingdom. Next, driving to Kabo village to catch the motorized canoe to cross up the river to Kutai National Park and then trekking to the jungle to spot wild orangutans and other wild animals. In the peaceful evening, we can have a night trekking to explore tarantula, insects, birds, and other nocturnal animals. Lunch will be served en route, dinner and overnight at research camp with basic facility. (B,L,D)


Day 17  KUTAI NATIONAL PARK

In the morning, we will cross down the river into Delta Sangatta to spot the estuarine crocodiles, proboscis monkeys, monitor lizards, and birds. In the afternoon, we will trek in different trail to spot wild orangutans and other wild animals as well as the various floras of the national park. Return to the camp for dinner and overnight. Day 18  KUTAI NATIONAL PARK – KABO VILLAGE – MERABU VILLAGE

After breakfast, we will cross down the river into Kabo village to catch our car for driving across rainforest and mountainous landscape to reach Merabu village. We can make stops to explore some interesting spots on the road. Lunch will be served on local restaurant, dinner and staying overnight at the homestay of the village. (B,L,D)


Day 19  MERABU VILLAGE – BELOYOT CAVE – NYADENG LAKE

After breakfast, we will trek through rainforest for about 2 hours to visit the ancient cave of prehistoric rock art that can be seen from the exotic handprints and paintings. During our trek, we may have opportunity to spot or hearing the sounds of hornbills, gibbons, macaques, insects, etc. Next, proceed to the village to catch our boat to cross the Lesan River to Nyadeng jetty to start our trekking into the beautiful clearwater lake for swiming with fish and then setting our campsite on the lakeside. Lunch will be served on homestay, dinner and staying overnight at the campsite. (B,L,D)


Day 20  NYADENG LAKE – KETEPU HILL – MERABU VILLAGE – BERAU

Early morning, we will trek up the Ketepu hill into the peak and watching the fantastic view of the misty Sangkulirang karst range and rainforest from above. We will have opportunity to spot magnificent hornbills and other bird species flying around the karst. Trekking down to the camp and refresh your body by swimming in the clearwater lake. Next, trekking back to the Nyadeng jetty to catch our boat crossing down the river into Merabu Village. Afterwards, say goodbye with the villagers and driving to Berau for check in to a hotel. Day 21  BERAU – TANJUNG BATU – DERAWAN ISLAND

After breakfast, we will drive to Tanjung Batu port to catch our speed boat crossing the Sulawesi Sea into Derawan Island. Arrive in Derawan island and directly check in to the cottage. Free at your own leisure. (B,L,D)


Day 22  DERAWAN ISLAND – KAKABAN ISLAND – SANGALAKI – DERAWAN ISLAND

Breakfast at cottage and then proceed to Kakaban island by boat for snorkeling and exploring the wondrous sea garden with 4 different species of jelly fish that can be found by thousands. Next, proceed to Sangalaki snorkeling on the site which is called as the Capital of The Mantas Rays, including kinds of exotic fish, such as; Napoleons, purple sea horses, tunitates, dwarf scorpion fishes, and not to forget the coral sea garden which is fascinating. Afterwards, return to the cottage for overnight. (B,L,D)


Day 23  DERAWAN ISLAND FREE PROGRAM

Breakfast at cottage and free at your own leisure. (B)


Day 24  DERAWAN ISLAND – TANJUNG BATU – DEPARTURE
